In the recent years SENS real estate and Dura Vermeer have developed the plan as a development joint venture, which was supported by approximately 25 cultural institutions, owners, residents and business owners. The design of the car park is the result of a fruitful collaboration between these stakeholders, the municipality of The Hague, the architect, developer, builder and owner.

Car park that meets international allure
Many museums and cultural institutions are housed around the Hofvijver, the Binnenhof and the Lange Voorhout. The municipality will identify this part as a museum quarter, with the aim of developing an international charm and allure. To comply with this international allure the car park provides a variety of luxurious facilities. From the high quality pedestrian pavilions the parkers walk straight into the Lange Voorhout, the Denneweg and the Binnenhof. The pavilions are designed to blend into the historic environment and are completely enveloped in glass. Contacless payment at the exits makes the entry and exit of the car park much easier. Drivers of electric cars can charge their car at any of the eight electric charging points. In addition, the garage is equipped with seven disabled spaces and toilets.

Customer and environmentally friendly car park
The car park is finished to the highest standard and is equipped with the latest technology. A parking guidance system – which guides the parker via the shortest route to a free parking space, floor coating, LED lighting and licence plate recognition. Just like in the Markthal car park Eco-Parking will be applied, meaning that parkers with an energy label A or a fully electric car, park with a discount.

From mid-January it will be possible to make reservations through the website parkereninmuseumkwartier.nl. With the advantage that visitors can book from home or on the road and immidiately pay for their space. This means that the visitor can drive in quicker through license plate recognition or a QR code from a smartphone and no longer needs to visit the ticket machine. The products that can be booked online correspond to the environment. So parkers who visit the Royal Theatre or one of the museums can book Theater or Museum Parking.
